TURNING DREAMS INTO REALITY
Each year Mayibuye supports a number of orphanages, day care centres and old aged homes through a dedicated programme of activities which we have themed 'Turning Dreams into Reality'. In line with our CSI statement, our activities aim to foster hope in the hearts and minds of people who have almost forgotten its meaning.
Our Turning Dreams into Reality programme celebrates some of the major events of the year, and supports hard-working institutions providing shelter and care for children, old aged and disabled persons who have nowhere else to call home.

EASTER
Leading up to Easter, we appeal to our staff to donate Easter eggs for children in the orphanages we have chosen to support, and we are astounded every year by the generosity of donations.
Mayibuye doubles the donated gifts, arranges for gift wrapping and distribution, and holds fun-filled parties at the orphanages and homes we support to spread cheer, and uplift spirits for the return of hope into their lives.

WINTER WARMERS
Through our Winter Warmers project, every year as the cold of winter approaches we appeal for, collect and distribute essential items to the homes we support, including warm clothes, footwear, bedding, food and the like.
But we do more than make 'faceless' donations. Numerous volunteers among our staff give of their time to the tasks of sorting, delivering and handing out the goods, which are always received with smiles and enormous gratitude by the delighted occupants of the homes.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
For those less fortunate, particularly destitute children, Christmas time can sharpen the pain of their separation from the mainstream of normal family lives. It highlights the fact that they do not have a supporting family to nurture them, encourage their growth and development, and inspire hope for the future.
At this time of the year, we again appeal to our people to raise money in many imaginative ways in order to buy gifts and essentials from the wish-lists of individuals in the homes we support. This helps to uplift their spirits and encourage hope to return into their lives.

As a company, we add to those gifts donated, undertake the personalisation of gift wrapping and donate 'back-to-school' stationery for the children and other practical items. Our staff and their own children lay on festive Christmas parties at the homes, with gifts handed out by Father Christmas, delicious food and plenty of fun and games which are enjoyed by all who attend.

CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION
We hold our annual Christmas Card Drawing Competition for children of the orphanages we support, and for the children of our staff. Every year we donate the drawing materials and receive in return hundreds of wonderfully creative entries. The best drawings are used as designs for the cards we send out to clients and friends of Mayibuye at the end of the year.
